Martin Kaltenbrunner, one of the Reactable inventors, will perform on the original instrument together with the experimental thereminist Günther Gessert, playing one of the oldest electronic musical instruments. Within an electro-acoustic performance, the physical interface of the Reactable will contrast with the intangible interaction on the Theremin. Before the actual evening concert, participants will have the opportunity to try both instruments in an afternoon workshop.

PS ArtSpace
Waldsteingartenstrasse 135, 1020 Wien
On April 30, 2011 the Pratersauna – one of the most interesting locations in Europe, according to Monocle – presented the PS ArtSpace in addition to the club and sauna. Exhibitions are initiated and curated separately from club operations, with an institutional structure and an independent corporate identity under the art brand PS ArtSpace, sponsored by “departure”. The Pratersauna’s art team’s goal is to establish progressive exhibition concepts in Vienna. Until late summer 2011 the newly adapted rooms on the second floor will function as an offbeat location for independent national and international art projects. These projects and exhibitions will be shown in cooperation with renowned artists, institutions as well as external Festivals. A team of experts composed of national mentors and international curators has been formed around the core team, to ensure that the PS ArtSpace lives up to the expectations of an international stature with a strong national relevance. Lectures and workshops are being held on regular basis and complete the program of this new space based in the 2nd district of Vienna.
Over two days we’ll walk through complete examples introducing the OpenFrameworks system. Together we’ll build a simple drawing application, do image processing, learn how to network an installation using OSC, and program interactivity using real time face detection. The second day will be an open coding jam where participants will be free to begin pursuing bigger projects. We’ll be there to debug and give guidance on tackling your ideas.
